More than 40 young people passionate about cyber security have registered so far to participate in the European Cyber Security Championship - RoCSC2022, according to the competition organizers.
The registration process for the third edition of the national contest will be carried out until 22 July, 2022, informs the National Directorate of Cyber Security (DNSC).
The first stage of the national competition is for qualifications and will take place online, between July 22 (16:00) and July 23 (22:00). The competition can be attended by cyber security enthusiasts from three categories: Juniors (16-20 years old), Seniors (21-25 years old) and Open (available regardless of age).
After the initial online pre-selection process, the final stage will follow, which will bring together the best 15 competitors from the eligible categories (juniors and seniors) and will take place on 6 August 2022. This stage will involve the physical presence in a location established later.
The best results in the eligible categories will be awarded. Thus, for the Junior and Senior categories, the first place will receive 2,000 euros, the second place the amount of 1,000 euros, the third place a prize of 500 euros, and the 4th - 10th place will receive special prizes from sponsors.
The organizers will select the preliminary squad of Team Romania, which will go to a training bootcamp in central Bran between 17 and 21 August 2022. During the training, the young people will be tested and trained through exercises in the field of web application security, cyber attack and defense, cryptography, network traffic analysis, reverse engineering, etc.
The competition is organized by the Romanian Intelligence Service (SRI), the National Association for Information Systems Security (ANSSI) and DNSC, with the support of the Ministry of Education, AGERPRES National Press Agency as well as the partners from the private environment - Orange, BitSentinel, certSIGN, Cisco, UiPath, PaloAlto Networks, KPMG and Clico.
RoCSC has the role of selecting eligible members for the Team Romanian to participate in the European Cyber Security Championship (ECSC), scheduled in Vienna, from September 13 to 16.
