Sofia, Nov 4 /Agerpres/ - The news agencies from Bulgaria and Romania, BTA and AGERPRES, will sign a cooperation agreement in early 2022, the general directors of the two institutions, Kiril Valchev and Claudia Victoria Nicolae, announced in Sofia on Thursday, according to BTA.
"'I am visiting BTA for the second time. I was here for the News Agencies World Congress, organized in Bulgaria by the former director general. Relations between BTA and Agerpres go far back, continuing during the tenure of all directors general with cooperation between the two agencies growing stronger with time," declared Claudia Nicolae.
She added that as neighbors in the Balkans, it was very important for the two institutions to work together and find ways and opportunities to help each other as national news agencies.
"Next year we will mark the 30th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Good Neighborhood. This should be an additional point in support of our future cooperation. I am convinced that all the projects will progress smoothly and will be a great success", Claudia Victoria Nicolae underlined.
For his part, BTA Director General Kiril Valchev said the two news agencies would sign a collaboration agreement in early 2022 and mark the 30th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Good Neighborhood between Romania and the Republic of Bulgaria in 1992 through exhibitions in Sofia and Bucharest.
