Bucharest, Aug 10 /Agerpres/ - Over 20,000 people are protesting in front of the Government building in Victoria Square in central Bucharest.
A part of those present have repeatedly tried to force the fences put up by the gendarmerie. They have replied with tear gas and a water cannon.
The improvised bullhorn stand in the middle of the square broadcast appeals to calm and antigovernmental and anticorruption slogans.
Road traffic is stopped on all the streets around Victory Square and several people are collecting signatures for an anticorruption campaign.
The ambulance services have granted medical assistance to 105 persons attending the protest, four being transported to hospital. AGERPRES (RO - author: Alexandru Daniel Florea, editor: Mihai Simionescu; EN - editor: Razvan-Adrian Pandea)
