The relationship between Romania and the UK has "a solid foundation and numerous development opportunities for the future," and after Brexit, Romania and the United Kingdom will have to "develop a broader vision" in order to bring up-to-date their strategic partnership, Deputy Prime Minister Ana Birchall wrote on Tuesday on her Facebook page.
The Deputy PM for Implementing Romania's Strategic Partnerships has met with UK Ambassador Paul Brummell.
She talked about updating the Romania - UK post -Brexit partnership, "by identifying new ways of cooperation and promoting a broader agenda."
"Expanding the vision regarding the Romanian-British strategic partnership will also mean the possibility to respond better to new challenges of the current and future international context," Birchall stated.
In her opinion, "it's important for Romania that the UK remain as close as possible to the European Union and further play a leading role on security, defence and economy dimensions." AGERPRES (RO - author: Oana Ghita, editor: Florin Marin; EN - author: Rodica State, editor: Cristina Zaharia)
