Romanian-Georgian duo Buzarnescu-Kalashnikova, through to Linz Open women's doubles semis

Romanian-Georgian tennis duo Mihaela Buzarnescu/Oksana Kalashnikova on Thursday advanced to the semifinals of the women's doubles event at the 226,750-USD Linz Open tennis tournament in Austria after defeating German pairing Nicola Geuer/Anna Zaja 7-5 6-3.

Buzarnescu and Kalashnikova won in an hour and 19 minutes.

They secured 2,770 euros and 110 WTA doubles points.

In the semis, Buzarnescu and Kalashnikova will face off the winner between Nadiia Kichenok (Ukraine)/Anastasia Rodionova (Australia / N.4) versus Natela Dzalamide (Georgia)/Xenia Knoll (Switzerland).
