Deputy Prime Minister Sevil Shhaideh on Wednesday went to the National Anti-Corruption Directorate (DNA).

She came accompanied by a lawyer, saying at the entrance that she was called for 14:00hrs.

Judicial sources have told AGERPRES that Shhaideh is to take part in procedural action carried out by investigators in the Belina case, where she is prosecuted for abuse of office.

Shhaideh, at the time a senior official of the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Administration (MDRAP), is prosecuted by anti-corruption prosecutors for abuse of office when a civil servant has obtained an undue advantage for self or others, DNA says in a press statement.

According to DNA, the case regards the illegal switch of a part of Belina Island and Pavel Branch under the administration of the Teleorman County Council (CJ), which subsequently leased them out to a commercial company.

Also prosecuted in the same case is Mariana Sanda Gheorghiu, principal registrar assistant at the Alexandria Real Estate Cadastre and Real Estate Publicity Office also for abuse of office when a civil servant has obtained an undue advantage for self or others, as well as MDRAP director Ionela Stoian; assistant registrar at the Alexandria Real Estate Cadastre and Real Estate Publicity Office Rodica Gusa, and chief registrar at the same institution Alexandrina Anduta Diaconu, for complicity to abuse of office.
