Vehicle trade turnover up 6.5 pct in July

The turnover volume of the trade in motor vehicles and motorcycles rose in July 2017, as compared to the same period last year, both as gross series and as series adjusted depending on the number of working days and seasonality, by 6.5 pct and 9.9 pct, respectively, according to data released by the National Institute of Statistics (INS) on Wednesday.

Between January 1 and July 31, 2017, Y-o-Y, the turnover volume for wholesale and retail trade, the maintenance and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, as gross series increased by 12.4 pct due to increases registered in the trade with motorcycles spare parts and accessories; the maintenance and repair of motorcycles (+ 38.7 pct), the maintenance and repair of vehicles (+ 27.8 pct), the trade in vehicles (+ 10.4 pct) and the vehicles spare parts and related accessories trade (+ 9.5 pct) .

From1 January to 31 July 2017 compared to the period 1 January to 31 July 2016, turnover for wholesale and retail trade, maintenance and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, series adjusted by number of working days and seasonality, increased by 13.9 pct.

The turnover of market services rendered to the population, as gross series, during the interval January 1 — July 31, 2017 registered a turnover of 12.4 pct higher as compared to the period from January 1 to July 31, 2016, coming from gambling and other recreational activities (+ 14.4 pct), the activities of tourist agencies and tour operators (+ 13.5 pct), the activities of hotels and restaurants (+ 12.4 pct) and activities of washing, cleaning and dyeing of textiles and furs (+ 9.0 pct). Hairdressing and other beautifying activities declined by 13.6 pct.
