US photographer Chris Suspect is the special guest of the 8th edition of the International Visual Arts Festival "Vama Under Oscar Lights," which will take place in Vama Veche, in the 18-27 August period.

According to a Wednesday press release the organizers sent to AGERPRES, Chris Suspect is "a photographer not liked by US President Donald Trump," as since Trump's inauguration in January he has photographed many of the protests in Washington.

Some of the photographs taken by Chris Suspect during these protests were included in a book project called "Un-Presidented: The Inauguration of Donald J. Trump and the People's Response." The project which includes images captured by Suspect and 27 other photographers was selected in the categories "Project We Love" by the Kickstarter platform and it has achieved the final funding goal in less than four days, the quoted source mentions.

In the "Vama Under Oscar Lights" Festival, Chris Suspect will present his protest photos, he will speak about how the album "Un-Presidented: The Inauguration of Donald J. Trump an the People's Response" was made and about how life is in Washington under the Trump Administration.

Registrations to "Vama Under Oscar Lights" (VSLO), the largest visual arts festival in Romania, have started and the photographers and film enthusiasts can participate on a basic condition: "to do a good deed," the organizers say. This year's edition will include street photo contests, daily snapshots, 4x4 mud photography, conceptual photography, nude photography (only for photos +18 years), product photography, bride portraits, mobile phone observation photo or Photoshop retouching courses.

Among the lecturers to the festival, together with Chris Suspect, there are Marian Sterea, Nicolae Cosniceru, Vali Barbulescu, Cristian Crisbasan, Michail Moscholios (Greece), Olav Urdahl (Norway). After each course there will be meetings, projections and portofolio analyses with pictures taken within the practical part of the workshops.

VSLO 2017 is organized by the Visual Art Association.
