Romanian duo Irina Begu/Raluca Olaru on Monday advanced to the quarter-finals of the women's doubles event at the 226,750-USD BRD Bucharest Open tennis tournament after defeating Romanian pairing Ana Bogdan/Elena-Gabriela Ruse 6-3 7-5.

N.1 Begu-Olaru prevailed in an hour and 30 minutes, winning 1,820 US dollars and 60 WTA doubles points in the process.
