No confidence motion is ready to be lodged to Parliament (sources)

 •  English

The no confidence motion initiated by the PSD and ALDE (Social Democratic Party and Alliance of Liberals of Democrats) Members of the Parliament against the Grindeanu Government has been finalised and is going to be lodged to the Parliament, according to sources from the Legislative.

The censure motion is called "Romania cannot be seized. We defend democracy and the Romanians' vote."

"By proving disdain to the democratic rules of the functioning of the state bodies, political immaturity and irresponsibility, the Prime Minister and one of his ministers instead of observing the investiture vote and the confidence granted by the Parliament, have took it that the governance could be exercised in their own name, that the constitutional, legal decisions are not mandatory and that they could outdare the vote granted by the citizens and the democracy. Two of the 27 members of the gov't, led out of their own will by a deputy, senior civil servant are distributing ministerial positions and launching ridiculous attacks in all directions, offering an unwilled and hallucinating caricature of the ruling act. The Ponta — Grindeanu — Jianu < > does but demonstrate that there are politicians who have for ever lost their common-sense's compass, their honour and dignity, thus confirming the righteousness of the decisions made by the PSD and ALDE leaderships, for their political support to be withdrawn," the text reads.AGERPRES(RO — author: Dana Piciu, editor: Antonia Nita; EN — author, editor: Maria Voican; online editor: Maria Voican)
