PNL Congress for party's chairmanship started

The convention of the National Liberal Party (PNL) Congress for the election of the new chairman of the party, a position for which Ludovic Orban and Cristian Busoi are running, started on Saturday at Romexpo, in the attendance of 3,110 delegates.

The PNL Congress organized elections for the Liberals' chairmanship by voting the motions presented by the candidates, as well as for the presidents of the National Commission for Revision and Auditors (CNRC) and the Arbitration Commission (CA).

Within the Congress, Secretary General of the European People's Party (EPP) Antonio Lopez Isturiz White, Presidential Adviser Laurentiu Stefan and leader of the Hungarian Democratic Union of Romania (UDMR) group in the Deputies' Chamber Attila Korodi are to deliver speeches.

Moreover, honorary chairman of the PNL Mircea Ionescu-Quintus and the interim chairperson of the Liberals Raluca Turcan are to deliver speeches also.

Ludovic Orban was the first to submit his candidacy as chairman of the PNL, but according to the draw, he will support his motion called "the PNL — Force of the Right" after Cristian Busoi, who runs with the motion called " the PNL — the party of the future. For a just, balanced and strong Romania."

On Sunday, the Liberals will meet in the National Coordination Council, where four first deputy-chairmen, the secretary general, and 16 deputy-chairmen will be elected: 8 deputy-chairmen on areas, coordinators of the specialized committees and 8 deputy-chairmen on the development regions. Also, 16 members will be elected for the Executive Bureau, treasurer and members of the CA and the CNRC. The Secretary General is proposed by the PNL Chairman.
