Bucharest, May 3 /Agerpres/ - Prime Minister Sorin Grindeanu will be on Thursday on an official visit to Jerusalem, where he will be received by the President of the State of Israel, Reuven Rivlin and will have a one-on-one meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, informs a release by the government sent to AGERPRES on Wednesday.

Sorin Grindeanu's meeting with Benjamin Netanyahu will be followed by an official lunch offered by the latter to all our country's delegation members: Economy Minister Mihai Tudose, National Defence Minister Gabriel Les, Minister for Romanians Abroad Andreea Pastirnac, Secretary General of the Government Mihai Busuioc and chairman of the Romania - Israel parliamentary friendship group Gabriel Vlase.

The heads of the two governments will hold joint press statements and will attend the inking of two bilateral documents: a Declaration of Intention on the reduction of the international roaming tariffs, between Romania's Ministry of Communications and Information Society and Israel's Ministry of Communications, and a Cooperation Declaration between Romania's Ministry of Economy and the Ministry of Economy and Industry of Israel. The second joint declaration aims to cooperation in certain fields, such as electricity and natural gas transport, research, development and innovation, high technologies and investments.

According to the release, Premier Grindeanu will be received by the President of the State of Israel, Reuven Rivlin and will have a meeting with Avigdor Lieberman, the Israeli Minister of Defence.

"This visit will be a good opportunity to assess the bilateral relations, considering that we aim to boost the political dialogue between Romania and Israel and to traverse a new stage, to a strategic dimension of the Romanian-Israeli relationship, capitalizing on the economic field," says Grindeanu, as quoted in the release.

The agenda of the Romanian PM in Israel also includes a visit to the "Yad Vashem" Holocaust Martyrs and Heroes Memorial Museum, a meeting with the representatives of the Romanian-born Jews, and talks with Theophilos III, the Greek-Orthodox Patriarch of Jerusalem, and with Archimandrite Teofil Anastasoaie, representative of the Romanian Orthodox Church to the Holy Places. Sorin Grindeanu will also meet with Colette Avital, the Secretary General of the World Jewish Restitution Organization.
