Bucharest, April 21 /Agerpres/ - Romanias gymnasts Catalina Ponor, Larisa Iordache, Olivia Cimpian and Ioana Crisan on Thursday advanced to the womens beam, floor and all-around finals of the European Individual Gymnastics Championships going on in Cluj-Napoca, Romania.

Three-time Olympic gold-medallist Ponor initially finished 4th in the floor qualifications with 13.566 points, but the jury revisited the score and awarded her 13.066 points, which take her out of contention. In the beam event she was awarded 14.066 points, coming in at number 4.

Five-time European title winner Iordache finished the beam qualifications first as she got 14.566 for her routine, but she missed a spot in the uneven bars final because she ended 11th with 13.833 points.

Cimpian and Crisan, competing for the first time as seniors, advanced to the womens all-around final from the 26th and the 29th positions, respectively, as they totalled 50.481 points and 50.199 points, respectively.

The 7th European Individual Artistic Gymnastics Championships are going on at the Polyvalent Hall in the Romanian northwestern city of Cluj-Napoca 60 years after Romania hosted the competition for the first time. Romanias only gymnast to have made it to the mens apparatus finals is Marian Dragulescu, who on Wednesday advanced to the floor and vault finals.
