Road traffic was down on several segments of Romania's national roads on Friday morning because of snow and icy winds the Infotrafic Centre with the Romanian Police General Inspectorate reports.

It says it is about DN26 Vanatori — Blagesti, in the counties of Galati and Vaslui; DN24D, in Galati County, between the intersection on DN26 (Tulucesti area) and the Vaslui County borders; DN24A Murgeni — Falciu, in Vaslui County; DN24B Albita — Husi, Vaslui County; DN2F Vladia — Ivanesti, Vaslui County and DN11A Podu Turcului — Barlad, Vaslui County and portion thereof in Vrancea County.

Traffic of motor vehicles weighing in more than 7.5 tonnes is restricted on DN28A Targu Frumos — Paacani, Iasi County, because of blowing snow.

Strong gales have also brought down activities at the Black Sea ports of Constanta-Nord, Constanta-Sud, Midia and Mangalia.

Railroad traffic in Vrancea County resumed at around 05:30hrs on mainframe 500 between the stations of Pufesti and Adjud after a power outage there had been remedied. AGERPRES (RO — editor: Oana Popescu; EN — author: Corneliu-Aurelian Colceriu, editor: Adina Panaitescu)
