"I have tried to take this story as seriously as possible and try to pitch this festival, which is very near and dear to us and which has created clear dependence, to as many people as possible. I mean all through the year I am being asked Has the festival started yet?, When does the festival start? Well, it starts on May 10 this year, a royal date. Ive said this is a very wonderful coincidence: then years since Palme dOr, and also May 10 [day of Romanias Royalty]; I have been equally very happy to have Cristian Mungiu with us because he hails from Iasi, among other things," said Nistor.
According to organisers, the Iasi Athenaeum, the first official cultural partner of the 8th edition of SFR, has already become the official partner of this years edition of the festival, and its support for Romanias film and filmmaking values will be visible at this special edition as well; many of the events will be hosted by the athenaeums Radu Beligan Grand Hall.
