Tennis: Mergea and Quresti through to round of 16 of ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Monte Carlo

The pair formed of Romanian tennis player Florin Mergea and Pakistani player Aisam-Ul-Haq Qureshi has qualified, on Monday, to the round of 16 of the 4,273,775-euro ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Monte Carlo, after defeating by 6-4, 6-4, the pair formed by Marin Cilic (Croatia)/Philipp Petzschner (Germany).

Mergea and Qureshi took the win in one hour and 15 minutes and ensured for themselves a check worth 16,550 euro and 90 ATP points.

In the round of 16, Mergea and Qureshi will face off against Spaniards Feliciano and Marc Lopez, seeded seventh.

Horia Tecau and Dutchman Jean-Julien Rojer are seeded eighth and will enter directly in the second round, against the winners of the match-up between Spaniards Pablo Carreno Busta/Guillermo Garcia-Lopez and pair Romain Arneodo (Monaco)/Hugo Nys (France).
