Aradoaie wins second medal for Romania at U-22 European Boxing Championships

Romanian boxer Paul Andrei Aradoaie on Sunday won the bronze medal in the 81-kg category of the Under-22 European Boxing Championships hosted by the Romanian eastern city of Braila, after defeating Poland's Mateusz Goinski in the quarter-finals.

The win was by a 5-0 unanimous decision.

In the semi-finals, he lost to Ukraine's Stepan Grekul, who defeated Greece's Polyneikis Kalamaras in teh quarter-finals.

Aradoaie of CS Dinamo won the second medal for Romania, after a first secured by Robert Jitaru thanks to the boxer's reaching the semi-finals of the 56-kg category, where he meets Slovakian Viliam Tanko.

Romania registered ten athletes for the championships, one for each category, but only three of them advanced to the quarter-finals — Robert Jitaru (56 kg), Daniel Costea (64 kg) and Paul Andrei Ardoaie (81 kg).
