Bucharest, March 14 /Agerpres/ - The representatives of Proprietatea Fund are disappointed by the decision-making rhythm, declared on Tuesday, in a press conference Marius Dan, Investor Relations Director at FP.
"We are disappointed by the decision-making pace. It has to do with very simple decisions related to Hidroelectrica that could speed up the company flotation at the end of the year. Linked to the other companies, there is no government decision, apart from that memorandum that speaks about the intent to bring on the local capital market Bucharest Airports, Port of Constanta and Salrom," the FP official said.
"I hope significant steps will be carried out in 2017, and 2018 to be the year Romania will achieve this status of emerging market. We have a constant dialogue with the authorities. We are trying to promote as many listings as possible, especially Hidroelectrica listing that should take place towards the end of this year, if decisions are made in this regard," said Marius Dan.
Hidroelectrica shareholders have recently extended, until August 7, 2017, the letter of commitment signed with the brokerage syndicate Morgan Stanley & Co. International plc and Raiffeisen Capital & Investment SA, in view of the stock market listing of the energy producer.
Earlier this year, the President of the Bucharest Stock Exchange, Lucian Anghel was explaining that listing Hidroelectrica could upgrade Romania to Emerging Market status, and one effect would be the increase of pensions for 6 million Romanians.
In 2013, the Government decided the listing of the company at the Bucharest Stock Exchange by raising capital and launching an initial public offering for the sale of newly issued shares of a package representing 15 pct of the existing share capital before the increase. In this process, following an organized tender in January 2014, the brokerage syndicate consisting of Morgan Stanley and Raiffeisen was selected, and a letter of commitment was signed with it in February 2014.
The Romanian state owns 80 pct of Hidroelectrica, through the Ministry of Energy and 20 pct of shares are held by the Fund.AGERPRES(RO - author: Florin Barbuta, editor: Andreea Marinescu; EN - author: Simona Iacob, editor: Maria Voican)
