Bucharest, May 3 /Agerpres/ - MediaSind Romanian union of journalists, in partnership with Romania's National News Agency AGERPRES, on Tuesday launched a ReStart project, on the occasion of the World Free Press Day.

The ReStart project is inspired by "The Ethical Journalism Initiative" concept promoted by the International Federation of Journalists. ReStart is designed for the students at Romanian universities wanting to get involved in promoting high-quality journalism.

"We want students to have direct contact with the exigencies of the journalist job, by actually participating in editorial activities. We mean, for instance, news editing, taking photographs, making video materials," the MediaSind representatives say.

While the pilot project was conducted in partnership with the Danubius University of Galati, as far back as 2014, the current project is designed for all the universities nationwide. The students selected to participate in the project will receive AGERPRES volunteer badges, while their best stories, photographs and videos will be posted on the website, as well as the websites of the the national and international partners and the participating universities, and get media promotion.

The universities and media organisations wanting to join the one-year project, May 3, 2016 - May 3, 2017, can contact the MediaSind representatives on [email protected] until June 1, 2016.
