Bucharest, Nov 11 /Agerpres/ - The National Union for the Progress of Romania (UNPR) will support in the Parliament the prime minister-designate and the cabinet proposed by him, the party announced.
"UNPR has reaffirmed its support for the Romanian president on all projects in the sector of national security. Gabriel Oprea stressed that Romania needs stability, and UNPR understood what the expectations of Romanians are. The National Union for the Progress of Romania will support in Parliament the prime minister-designate and the cabinet proposed by him," reads a statement sent by UNPR to AGERPRES after the meeting on Wednesday between party leaders and prime minister-designate Dacian Ciolos on the topic of forming a new government.
According to the statement, Gabriel Oprea assured prime minister-designate Dacian Ciolos that UNPR will support the new Government during the investiture vote, as well as with promoting in Parliament government projects of importance for Romania.
The meeting with prime minister-designate was attended by UNPR chairman Gabriel Oprea, Secretary General Neculai Ontanu, Deputy Secretary General Ion Toma and Vice Chairmen Valeriu Steriu and Eugen Nicolicea.
