Four Romanians win karate medals at European Championship in Gyor

Four Romanian athletes won medals at the European Cadet & Junior Karate Championship held in Gyor, Hungary on Oct. 5-9.

The four athletes, members of the national team of FRK WKC achieved the following results: Iorga Vlad won the European junior champion title (18-21 years-old category, minus 70 kg) and also the gold medal in the team competition in Shobu Sanbon, Surdu Daniela ranked first in the junior category, minus 60 kg, she won the gold medal in the team competition in Shobu Sanbon, Alexandru George ranked third in the 15-17 years-old category, minus 65 kg and won the gold medal in the Shobu Sanbon competition.

Barbalau Antonio ranked fourth in kumite (cadets), the category 60 kg.

The championship was attended by 1400 karate fighters from 22 countries.AGERPRES
