In order to pass, the new Cabinet will have to garner the vote of a majority of MPs, that is 233.

The ministers picked for the Ungureanu Cabinet were heard Wednesday by the specialist committees of Parliament and all of them were accepted, despite the absence of the Opposition MPs and the lack of a quorum in some committees.

The ruling coalition says it can count on the ayes of 245 MPs, as it currently holds 177 seats in the Chamber of Deputies and 68 in the Senate, including the seat of Iulian Urban, who has become independent but affiliated with PDL, major at rule.

The Opposition has 147 seats in the Chamber of Deputies and 66 seats in the Senate.

There are five non-affiliated MPs in the Chamber of Deputies and one such senator.
