Premier designate Mihai-Razvan Ungureanu said on Monday evening that, on Tuesday morning, he would hold talks with the leaders of the ruling coalition with a view to identifying the "optimum formula" for the Cabinet, but added that he would also talk with the opposition.

"The reforms will go on, what I am going to bring will be just the contribution made by a good administrator, who has a logic of efficiency first of all. Due to the posts I held, as a teacher and going to the highest positions in the Romanian State, I have always been loyal to the public interest and loyal, first of all, to our national interests. The Government I am going to create needs a firm parliamentary support, needs the confidence of Romania's citizens, needs a direction, which can only come from a political outlook. As a Romanian citizen, politician and teacher, I have always had right-wing political options," said the Premier designate.

He made it clear that his first aim was the "rapid" creation of the Government and said that he was aware of the "negative impact" of any form of a provisional nature on the management of the country.

"In this respect I intend to hold talks with the parties in the coalition in order to draw up the governing programme and to identify the optimum formula for the Cabinet. These talks will begin tomorrow morning. Meetings with the opposition leaders. My plan is the mutual information referring to short and medium-term intentions and aims, the identification of the subjects of national interest, there where the political will must take a trans-party form, from the cooperation and verification mechanism to the strategic decisions made by the EU or NATO. My essential priority is Romania's economic and political stability," also said Ungureanu. AGERPRES
