"The collaboration of the three institutions is aimed at identifying the forest ecosystems that carry a spontaneous truffle stock, and at the establishment of a relevant database," said Radio Corporation President Director General Andras Istvan Demeter.
He pointed out that the radio will play an important role in the public's ecological education and in rendering Romania's truffle harvesting activity popular at national and international level. The Radio Corporation President added that the cooperation protocol is not aimed at producing economic advantages for the signatory parties, as it has no financial purpose.
"This is the first protocol aimed at protecting an ecosystem," said Romsilva general manager Valerian Solovastru in his turn.
Romsilva's role in this joint work will focus on identifying forest perimeters where truffles could be thriving and help through specialized personnel protect these ecosystems that could become an income source. /continued/ AGERPRES
