''Whoever does not like it is free to seek another government formula, but for the time being, this is the structure of the parliamentary majority the Boc government relies on. And we expect it to be observed. (...) UNPR is a loyal coalition partner and expects PDL (the Liberal Democratic Party, major at rule) to be equally loyal in the coalition. I do not believe in partnerships based on blackmailing or political barter. I do not believe in partnerships based on group interests. We, UNPR members, have very clear principles, but I do not want these principles to be taken as a sign of weakness,' added the progressive leader.
Oprea added that the responsibility for putting together a functional majority in the lawmaking body falls on the Prime Minister, which implies permanent discussions with the PDL, UDMR and UNPR lawmakers. National Union for Romania's Progress (UNPR, at the rule) did not ask for any position before the government reshuffle and did not require any explanation from PM Boc after this move was carried through, UNPR executive president Gabriel Oprea told a press conference.
'UNPR is at the rule not for the sake of positions, but to ensure political and governmental stability. National interest requires us to have a highly performing government in place and a functional majority, and UNPR will do everything possible to help achieve this national interest,'' concluded Gabriel Oprea.AGERPRES

The government 'depends on UNPR votes,' declared the leader of the National Union for Romania's Progress (UNPR, in the ruling coalition) Gabriel Oprea, who is also Minister of National Defence.
