The government reshuffle will not affect Romania's loan by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) or the disbursement of the next tranche and it will not lead to higher financing costs, the chief of the IMF mission in Romania, Jeffrey Franks, said on the occasion of the 130th anniversary since the establishment of the Romanian National Bank (BNR).

"We heard about the reshuffle, but it will not affect neither the loan to Romania nor the release of the next tranche," said Franks.

Asked about a future loan, Franks said that "IMF was informed of this intention, but it is premature to discuss that topic.'

Romania's financial assistance programme, totaling over 20 billion, is supported by the IMF (13.6 billion euros), the European Commission (five billion), the World Bank (one billion euros) and other international institutions.
