A recent survey by the National Economic Projection Board among company managers indicates that Romania's industrial business turnover was up 7.1 percent in the third quarter of 2010, outgoing Economic Ministry Adriean Videanu told a news conference on Friday.

'The National Economic Projection Board has conducted a survey among business operators for the third quarter. This indicates a rise in the industrial business turnover of 7.1 percent. The rising trends in the industrial output and the energy sector were continued. This is a psychological factor indicating a regain in the trust in the private sector,' said Videanu.

He also said that industrial output and energy brought stability to Romania's economy in 2009 and 2010.

‘Energy and the industrial output brought stability to Romania's economy in 2009 and 2010. These were the only provinces of growth despite two years of hardships. The weight of the industry in the GDP formation reached 26.65 percent in 2010, which is an encouraging signal. It was 22 percent in 2008 and 23 percent in 2009. There is a visible rising trend. That means gross added value in the economy and rising competitiveness. I could say that this is a solid foundation for the recovery of sustainable growth. Labour productivity has constantly improved. The industrial output increased by 4.4 percent in the first five months of the year in adjusted series. Exports also fully contributed to Romania's economic stability,' said Videanu. AGERPRES
