'It is an extensive reshuffle, an important one and I think such steps are necessary in times of recession', the Democratic Liberal speaker said.

Asked whether the reshuffle of the Emil Boc Cabinet had been necessary, she answered: 'Categorically, yes'.

'It was the evaluation of the entire party and it was voted for unanimously', she added.

With respect to the new ministers appointed after the removal of the ministers of Finances, Economy, Transport, Labour, Agriculture and Communications, Anastase stressed she regards the new team with much optimism.

'This time around the governmental team is strengthened by a major parliamentary component. I am very optimistic any time people start on a new road", the lower house speaker said. AGERPRES
