'In the time ahead we should be conducted a more applied analysis of the possibility to strengthen the military dimension of the Romanian participation by a diplomatic component. Later on, according to the future developments, we and our partners will be attempting to also diversify the diplomatic presence in these theatres,' said Baconschi.

He underscored that Romania's presence in the theatres of operations will be kept according to the commitments pledged by Romania in the interest of contributing to peace and stability in the world.

'Romania has a consistent and increased engagement in Afghanistan, and the Romanian contribution on the field is remarkable and noticed at the same time. At the international conference on Afghanistan of July 2010, Romania reiterated its commitment to support the efforts of the world community to increase security, stability and development in this country, indicating that the Romanian troops will stay in Afghanistan for as long as they are needed,' said Baconschi.AGERPRES
