Romanian boxer Paul Andrei Aradoaie qualified on Monday evening in the final of the 81-kg category of the Under-22 European Boxing Championships in Braila, after defeating in the semifinals the Ukrainian Stepan Grekul.
Aradoaie, who dominated the first and third rounds, won by a 5-0 unanimous decision. He will box for the gold medal on Tuesday with Russian Muslim Gadji Magomedov, winner in the first semifinal to Belarusian Gleb Sinkevici (5-0).
Paul Andrei Aradoaie is the second Romanian finalist in the European Championships in Braila, after Robert Eusebius Jitaru defeated in the 56-kg category semifinals the Slovak Viliam Tanko (4-1), still on Monday. In the last round, the double bronze medalist at the European Youth Championships will box with Englishman Peter McGrail.
