Romania is represented this year by 22 companies, brought together under the national pavilion, at the Green Week International Exhibition for Food, Agriculture and Gardening Industry, an event that is held in Berlin, Germany, over January 17-26, 2014.
The Romanian exhibitors will bring specific produce, meat and meat products, honey and honey products, wines, cheeses, beverages, jams, palinka, tinned vegetables and fruits, plum butter and bread.
'The presence of the Romanian produce at this fair shows the evolution of this field at the same time with the growth of its competitiveness. The Ministry of Agriculture is consistent in the actions and strategies validated through the support it gave this year too to the Romanian companies participating in this exhibition,' Secretary of State with the Ministry of Agriculture Daniel Botanoiu told Agerpres.
According to the above-mentioned source, during the current edition of the Green Week, they will also hold the Global Forum for Food and Agriculture, over January 16-18, which will be attended by 80 ministers of agriculture, deputy ministers and people in charge of the farming and food industry all over the world. They will discuss the management of crisis and ensuring food safety, but also aspects connected to the future of the global food industry. Agriculture needs three key elements: the use of diversity, ensuring sustainability and the increase in productivity.
At the end of the summit they will make a joint declaration incorporated in the current talks on the agenda of the United Nations Organization.
In 2012 Romania was a partner state as part of this exhibition and participated together with more than 60 companies working in the food industry, whereas last year the number of the companies dropped to 24.AGERPRES
